We are A2S
A2S platform is a collaborative resource of University of Strasbourg and CNRS. It has been created in September 2018. A2S is based on new technologies (massive data processing, HPC, remote sensing, data mining) for providing services for the analysis of massive geospatial datasets and sensor time series over large territories.
Our objectives

Federate
Ressources and expertises in Earth Observation and in-situ sensors.

Foster
The use of services for the processing of massive sensor time series.

Increase
The use of Artificial Intelligence in Earth observation applications.

Promote
Synergies between research institutes, space agencies and decision makers.
Who we are
We are researchers and engineers in geophysics, geomatics, remote sensing, massive data processing and machine learning from three research units (EOST, ICube, LIVE) and from the Datacenter/HPC of University of Strasbourg/CNRS.

How we work
A2S is a collaborative and integrated resource, combining:

Powerful computing, storage and network capacities tailored to the rapid processing of large sensor time series.

Softwares (system operation, thematic application) for the continuous and on-demand production of information derived from the satellite images and sensors time series.

Support of expert engineers in High Performance Computing, remote sensing, geophysics, geomatics and machine learning mostly dedicated to Earth observation applications.
A2S offers its services to:
Research organizations seeking access to the best computing facility and processing codes dedicated to a deeper understanding of the Earth surface.
Public or private users requiring resources to process massive streams of satellite/in-situ sensor data using their own tools, using processes already implemented, or applications specially designed.
Massive computation in two modes (on-demand, survey/continuous mode) and dissemination of the product results are proposed. Training sessions for understanding the algorithms tools are offered. A collaboration with A2S typically falls into one of these three cases:

Algorithms and sensor data already developed, integrated and maintained by A2S are directly available for the users.

Customization of existing algorithms is implemented to better fit the user needs. These developments and adaptations are performed before starting production.

Algorithms and sensor data are not available and applicable. This level of cooperation requires the setup of a research project.
